Find the Stories Behind the Landmark

Chapel of the Chimes offers the public scheduled tours of its historic grounds and buildings, designed with intention by Julia Morgan and dedicated in 1928. Her studies in Paris influenced her work here. Visitors can see the beautiful details in our chapels and hallways. A historic tour in Oakland offers the public much more than a hurried stop on an itinerary. Itโ€™s an experience of history, architecture and the stories of an entire community. Visitors are encouraged to appreciate the sunlight streaming through the stained glass and warming what might otherwise be just cold walls. They can linger in an appealing spot as they appreciate the history surrounding them.
