Jim Neher
Hagan came into our lives when he and Jim were officers on the Oak Hill. Their friendship continued through eventual assignments to other ships and leaving the Navy.Jim and Hagan took jobs in San Francisco and got together often over those years, sharing many good times at "The Zoo" (an apartment where Hagan lived with 3 or 4 other friends.) By this time, Jim had married Judy and moved to Santa Cruz. a year later and back in the Bay Area, Jim and Judy settled in Mill Valley while Hagan and his new wife, Andrea, resided in the East Bay. Our families spent fun times together, Hagan's 2 boys and Jim's 2 girls. We even took a vacation to Lake Powell and cruised on a houseboat-the two sailors were right at home! After we moved to Colorado, our times together became less and less frequent. But we kept in touch and visited when we could. We were able to see him at a reunion in San Francisco April of 2016. We enjoyed meeting Mary Kaye and seeing Hagan while he was still relatively healthy. Hagan was a very special part of our lives- we will miss him dearly.Fondly, The Nehers – Jim, Judy, Shelley and Noelle
