My memory of Mr Chung is the warmth and respect he always showed me as a high school friends of his son Rich. He was a hard worker who cared deeply for his family and always put their needs ahead of his own. Sending my best wishes and strength to Mrs Chung and all those who mourn his loss.
My name is Jesse Wilkinson and I was a friend of Richard Chung for all of my childhood and into high school. I want to send my condolences to Richard and his mother. Both of Richard’s parents were like parents to me because I would go to their store everyday and they were very nice people. Thank you for being a very positive part of my childhood and also helping to guide me in the right direction as well as Richard. All my love and prayers to the Chung family.
Mrs. Chung my family the Harris family send our prayers and condolences to you. You were an amazing family that watched my brothers and I grow up from Burckhalter into adult hood. I remember coming to the store getting snacks and even if I didn’t have the money with me. You would give me snacks and told me to go to school and be a good girl. I also remover how you and Mr. Chung were very caring. As an adult I move away for college to La. You were retired from the pink store and had moved on. I was delighted to stop by years later at a beauty supply in Oakland. My eyes were filled with tears of joy when I walked into the place not knowing you owned it. You came around the counter with open arms and hugged me as I said Mrs. Chung you never age you look amazing. The customers were staring but I was sooo happy to see you all. This disease Alzheimer’s is such a nasty disease as I know all to well my mother has it. I’m praying that God comforts you in this time. You have done a wonderful job of being a mother, grandmother and strong woman. Sending much love to you all. Mrs. Chung I pray that as you embark on this new journey without Mr.chung you find peace knowing you did all that you can do.
Love Always,
Kesa, Pete, Gene, Tony and Mrs. Betty Harris
