We will all miss Grandpa! I have many fond memories of Grandpa and most of them involve fun outdoor activities with family. If I could mention just a few of them they would be caddying for either Grandpa or Dad at a very young age, numerous fishing trips on party-boats out of various cities, camping and fishing at Clear Lake, going to see the A's play, and golfing with siblings and Grandpa and Dad. Grandpa was all about grabbing life "by the horns". He also took the time to tell you everything you ever wanted to know about Christopher family history. And how can you not admire someone who retires at such a young age to show Grandma more of the country before her passing at such a young age. Grandpa…I love you and will miss you dearly. It saddens me to know that you will no longer be there to visit on Oakland or San Francisco layovers. But I will always be thinking about you whenever I am in the air or on the ground anywhere near your stomping grounds. Rest in Peace!!

One of the most memorable days in my life occured this past August when Debbie and I spent the day with Grandpa at his home on the hills of Oakland. For six hours we kept asking questions and he kept supplying answers. Some of the things we never knew but learned that day included he was a third generation American. He never really knew his grandparents and never met his father in law. His father was a policeman, and Grandpa wanted to be a policeman but was denied due to his height…one inch short. His first job was at the shipyards. He took in my Grandmother Lou's brother and sister to ease the burden on Grandma's mother.Grandpa had a lot of titles during his life. Husband, twice, father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, veteran, fireman, Fire Captain, champion cribbage player, ok golfer, motorcycle enthusiast, world traveler. He led a life rich in adventure and was always surrounded by friends and family who loved him dearly. He wore a jacket to dinner, and wrote thank you notes. He was a proud Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He was a very caring man who will be missed by all. We thank God for extending your time here on earth. Not many other 57 year old men who could claim they still had a living Grandfather. You are loved and will always be remembered in my prayers. Much love,Rene

Dear Grandpa, I will miss you very much! You were such an energetic and loving man. Although we lived thousands of miles apart, I was fortunate enough to spend some time with you over the years. What I remember most is there was never a dull moment, we were always on the go either fishing on your boat, taking a trip in your motor home, watching an A's game or just playing cards in the house.
