Regina Dimig's Obituary
Regina Panzarino-Dimig, 69, passed peacefully in Oakland, CA, surrounded by
family, following a brief illness.
Gina was born on November 24, 1953 to Michael and Irene Panzarino in Jersey
City, New Jersey. After Gina graduated from Memorial High School in 1971, she
went on to study Spanish and Sociology at Rutgers University.
In 1976, Gina met her loving husband Robert Dimig on a blind date. Gina and
Robert found their way to Alameda, CA in 1982, where they went on to have their
son Justin, Gina’s pride and joy, in 1988.
Before leaving the full time workforce, Gina worked for BART. Gina later took on
a role working with children at the Mariners Square Athletic Club, a job she
found endlessly fulfilling. Gina enjoyed spending time with her family, reading,
and volunteering. Gina was a loving, kind and thoughtful woman. Gina was a
deeply spiritual woman who loved her family and friends fiercely.
Gina was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by husband of 37 years
Robert of Alameda, CA, her son Justin and his wife Emily of Alameda, CA, her
brother Michael Panzarino (Stepahanie) of Kona, HI, her sister Irene Lewis
(Chuck) of Overland Park, KS, Mary Miranda of Delray, FL, Helene Panzarino
and (Stuart) of London, England, Tom Panzarino of Wayne, NJ, and sister in law
Kathleen Brancasi of Toms River, NJ. She is survived by 9 nieces and nephews on
both sides, who all adored her.
Services will be held on May 27, 2023 at 11 am, at Chapel of the Chimes 4499
Piedmont Ave, Oakland, CA 94611. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
donations be made to the Alameda Food Bank or the St. Anthony Foundation in
San Francisco.
