Noel Ibarra
My name is Noel Ibarra and the fourth among the five children of Adelina Caparaz Ibarra. On behalf of the Ibarra family, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Auntie Inday, my cousins Agner, Janus and Marc.
My earliest memory of Uncle Pat is when he came for his first visit at our home in Cavite City. He had that look and aura of a tall, handsome man with a beautiful smile. I remember the time we went to Josephine resort. He not only showed us his swimming skills but also demonstrated his acrobatic somersault jump from the pool platform.
Uncle Pat has the true traits of the CAPARAZ family. He was a gentleman, outgoing, fun to be with and the life of the party. I also heard from Ate Nelia that Uncle Pat has the reputation as ladies’ man. He always had a smile on his face and you could tell he loved life.
The most memorable moment I had with Uncle Pat was when I was a young teenager, he came back for a visit in Cavite City and he took me and Sao to Mindanao for a vacation. He gave me the opportunity to spent time with Lolo Andoy and Lola Idang in OZAMIS and met the rest of the CAPARAZ clan in OZAMIS and CAGAYAN. The time spent away from home gave me the opportunity to grow a little bit more independent, explore new places and meet other people which I will never forget.
The last time I saw Uncle Pat was on his birthday celebration in San Mateo in 2014. Again, it was another happy and memorable time spent with Uncle and his family. He welcomed us with open arms that was full of love and happiness. One of the most important traits of Uncle Pat was his faith in God. He told us that he had surgery on his knees and had other medical issues. When I asked how he is doing. He smiled, pulled a small prayer book out of his pocket and said “This is what helps me get through daily challenges.
I will remember Uncle Pat as a very loving Husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first. He was one of the kindest and most gentle man I’ve ever known.
I will miss Uncle Pat and someday I hope we will meet again.
We love you Uncle Pat.
