Mommy,I woke up early this morning as usual …I reached for the phone as always to call you …so we could laugh and talk like we normally do every day. But, I put the phone down because I was crying and I knew you would be able to hear that in my voice. So, I said I’ll call her later when I’m not crying and that way you won’t know how hard these last five days have been for me. In just a few hours from now…we’ll be celebrating your home going. Aunt Mildred, I have such fond memories of you and my mother together as a little girl. Memories I’ll never forget. You were always so kind and gental. I’m so glad Mother had the chance to talk to the day before you left us. She’s gonna miss her friend. I promise to stay close to Gail. You raised a fine woman as I’m sure you know. Mildred was always the kindest whenever I heard her talking or if she was talking to my siblings and I. Either way she would alway give a compliment and we’d give one right back. Although I wasn’t visiting her to ask stories and for wardrobe advice, I know she loved us in her own special way. And we loved her too.
