Michael Ablen Cavizo's Obituary
Michael Ablen Cavizo, 58, native of Oakland, passed away on November 23, 2015.
Michael was born October 21, 1957 in Oakland, California, the son of Pedro and Cresencia (Ablen) Cavizo. He is survived and will be missed by his loving daughters Felicia and Dominique Cavizo, grandsons Gino and Xavier and granddaughter, Kimora as well as his sisters – Angeles Dominguez, Mary Ann Gohl, Delia Cavizo, and Julie Aquino and brothers – Pedro Cavizo Jr., Jaime Cavizo and his longtime friend and wife Kimberly. In addition to many others who loved him: sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, and a host of close friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents.
His passions were bowling, watching sports on TV, and playing a good game of Poker with family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren. A loyal fan to his beloved Oakland Raiders, fan of the Oakland A’s as well as the Golden State Warriors.
Michael was a long time employee of the Oakland Army Base in the 90’s and then employed with Home Depot for 13 years until 2011.
Michael struggled with many medical issues for the past few years but did everything possible to extend his time and live out the rest of his days spending time with those he loved.
His quirky sense of humor and love of life will be greatly missed.
Services to celebrate Michael’s life will be held at the Chapel of Chimes in Oakland. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 with the Rosary at 4pm. Memorial Service will be at 10 am on Thursday, December 3, 2015 with reception to follow immediately after service from 11:30-3pm. The Chapel of Chimes in Oakland is located at 4499 Piedmont Avenue.
