Maxie H McKinney's Obituary
Our mom was a hardworking and caring woman who touched the lives of so many people in our community. She dedicated her life to helping others, whether it was through her work as a beautician at Artist and Models in Piedmont, where I would often sit after school waiting for her, or as the beloved lunch lady at Sherman School, where she became everyone’s favorite. After many years at the school, she followed her dream and started her own business, Maxie DayCare, which provided a loving and safe environment for children to learn and grow for over 20 years. She was also the president of our block, Picardy Dr, in 1995-1996, and cared for my grandmother until she passed away at 100 years old. Even after retirement, my mom continued to give back by singing in her church and with her Nor Cal choir. She was not only a devoted mother to my sister and me, but also a pillar of strength and kindness in our neighborhood and family Losing her has been incredibly hard for us all!
