I came to know Maxie through Kevin and Dina, whose friendship with me spans over 30 years—I consider them family. From the first day I met Maxie, she was nothing short of loving and kind every time I saw her. I never once saw Maxie without her hair and nails done. She was a pillar of her neighborhood and a shining example of how one person can make a difference in the lives of others—through the love she showed the children in her daycare each day and the deep, unwavering love she had for her own children and grandchildren.
Maxie will truly be missed, but her legacy lives on. She is now celebrating life and rejoicing with the family who went before her. There will never be another Maxie McKinney.
