I lost track of Mary when she moved to California, after I moved to Pennsylvania. We both used to get together in Brooklyn she was a long time patient at an office where I worked and I loved her so much we became friends and I would visit her with Louise and bring doughnuts and drink coffee with her. I am so sad that she is gone, I also lost my brother as the same time of her passing and finally during this covid craziness found her phone number and address....to my sadness she is gone. She was a bright light and so much fun, I loved getting to know her and spending time with her. Elizabeth Lim

Aunt Mary was a very special person. I first met her in November 1993 when I went to Brooklyn to meet Pat’s relatives. They were a special group, Louise, Aunt Claire and Aunt Mary. They accepted me with open arms and seemed to like that I was a nurse although they didn’t listen to a single nursery thing I ever told them. I remember her walking Pat and I out to the stoop as we headed into Mahattan for some sight seeing. Rain was predicted that day and Mary had two plastic old lady rain hats for us to put on. She told us to keep our “pocketbooks” inside our coats and her last bit advice was to “don’t sit down on the toilet seats”.I loved Aunt Mary. She was sweet and affectionate and so very New York Italian. She loved to eat, especially Italian food as long as it didn’t have butter or cream on it. I enjoyed cooking Italian Christmas feasts which she really enjoyed eating from this Irish, German convert. She made me feel loved and happy and I will miss her terribly.

Aunt Mary was a very special person. I first met her in 1993 when Pat and I traveled back to Brooklyn so Imcould meet her family. I loved Pat’s family including her two Aunts, Aunt Claire and Aunt Mary. They were a tight knit family who doted and their niece. They accepted me with open arms and I always loved traveling back to see them. I’ll never forget Aunt Mary who escorted us to the door when we were on our way to Manhattan. She stood their with the plastic hair covers which she insisted we put on because it was suppose to rain later that day. As we went down the stoop she yelled out her last words of advice “Don’t sit on the toilet seats!”Mary loved food, especially Italian Food. I loved to see her sit down at the table and eat the Italian feast we cooked at Christmas. She was very generous and affectionate. It was really nice having her here after Louise passed away. I will miss her terribly.

I met Mary when she lived at Carlton Plaza. My Mom; Betty Leonard & Mary were the best of friends. Mary & Mom were neighbors at Carlton Plaza & they loved to visit & watch Dancing with the Stars together. My Mom passed away in 2013 & Mary spent time with me when I needed a friend to keep my spirits up. Mary has such a beautiful spirit & I will miss her very much. God Bless you Mary. I met Aunt Mary back when Patti and I were in High School. Aunt Mary was always proud of her nieces and nephew and always spoke of them with such pride. All those years in Brooklyn you could always hear her love when she mentioned Patti, Paul, Karen and Suzette and as marriage and children extended her family it extended her love for all of them. I can remember Louise, Claire and Mary all being so warm and welcoming to me from the first day I met them and it always remained that way, No doubt Aunt Mary was grateful for the move to California and the opportunity to remain close to Patti, who did a wonderful job in overseeing Aunt Mary's life, care and well being. The pictures shown made me smile and they express her happiness in times spent with people in Patti's life and who grew to love Aunt Mary also. I'm sure many happy times with Lindsey and Sara, her care givers and along with others over the years. Although living in California Aunt Mary's love for her brother Anthony, Paul and Joann, their children Paul, Michael, Noah and Christina, Suzette,and John and their daughter Jennifer remained strong as her love for Patti did. I only knew aunt Mary late in life but I have heard many stories about her long life from her niece Pat. Mary lived a long life filled with love from her family who she loved dearly in return. May she Rest In Peace after a life well lived
