Mary Della's Obituary
On the morning of April 16th Mary passed away peacefully. She had resided at Willow Creek Alzheimer’s Care Home for the last six years. Even in her latter years, she was a force to be reckoned with.
Born in Italy in 1924, Mary came to the United States after meeting her second husband Joseph Della. She bravely brought her two children, Tina and Franco to an unknown country on the hope of providing a better life for them after leaving war torn Europe. She continued to spend 70 plus years living in the Bay Area and building a strong foundation of family and friends. She was a strong, selfless, loving, devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She had a great sense of humor and was an awesome judge of character. She touched many people’s lives with her kindness and will be deeply missed. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her daughter Tina, and her son Franco. She is survived by her granddaughters Laura, Gail, and Vanessa, her grandson Ricky, great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Kyle, Jaymie, Sarah, and Franco. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held, Friday, April 29th at Chapel of the Chimes, Oakland, California.
