Madie Thompson's Obituary
Madie Thompson, of Oakland, Ca passes away peacefully on July 9, 2017.She was born on August 26, 1931 in Houston, TX., graduating from Booker T. Washington High School and attended Texas Southern University. On February 18, 1950, Madie married the love of her life Jessie B. Thompson, who proceeded her in death.
Madie worked for over 27 years for the federal government, retiring from Social Security Administration in 1988. She gave selflessly of her time to many charitable organizations and causes and was a lifetime member of Pauline Dupee Chapter #55 and Menelink Court #53 and also belonged to the Oakland Chapter of the NAACP. She loved her family and friends dearly and enjoyed traveling.
Madie is survived by her beloved children Jessie, Byron, Hilary, Deborah, Delores, and Michelle, proceeded in death by daughter Schurniece. Daughter in law Marilyn, son in laws Ronald and Damen and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 22582 South Garden Ave., Hayward, CA 94541. Repass to immediately follow.
