Larry Lee Jolivette was The oldest son of my late sister: Anne Mae Sampy Jolivette and Wilson Jolivette, born on December 16th 1953. Larry was the oldest of three sons. Larry was a professional pianist, his love for music never wavered. As a professional pianist, he traveled locally and internationally. One particular place he talked about the most was Africa. Larry had visited Africa many times and said that Africa was a beautiful world. Larry will always remain in my heart, and l will miss him. Larry leaves to cherish his wife of 27 years: Chingwell Mutombu, his daughter’s, Shontel Chavis, Leeah Brekhus, Sarah Kanin. Granddaughter Katana. Father Wilson Jolivette. Three brothers, Floyd Jolivette(Liz), Anthony Jolivette and June Kelly. With many relatives and friends. I pray for his family.

Dear Chingwell,

I am writing this with a heavy heart, as I am grieving right alongside you. Larry wasn’t just my older brother, he was someone I looked up to my entire life. But I also know that to you, he was so much more-he was your partner, your best friend and your world.

I feel so lucky that he chose you and that you became part of our family. Watching the love you two shared was a gift and I know how much he adored you. I still remember the night at June’s (Gayle’s) house when the two of you were dancing, how I seen the joy and happiness that you all were showing each other it was amazing to have witnessed. It’s those moments I’ll hold onto when the silence feels too loud.

I don't have the right words because my heart is broken too, but I want you to know you aren't alone in this. We will get through this together, one day at a time.

As I remember my nephew Larry, he was somewhat of a shy person, with a sweet and gentle spirit. A person that loved his family.
Larry was very gifted, and, talented in music.

Dear Chingwell and Family,

Please accept our sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy. When I first met my husband, he said to me, "I can’t wait to introduce you to my best friend Larry and his lovely wife Chingwell." Years have gone by and our friendship has remained strong.

I will really miss hearing them both on the phone talking and laughing!!

May you find comfort in the love of those around you and peace in the memories you hold dear.
