In Loving Memory of Jose Leonardo Mendez Mulato
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jose Leonardo Mendez Mulato, lovingly known to family and friends as “Chepe,” who peacefully departed this life on June 5, 2026.
Born on January 3, 1967, in San Salvador, El Salvador, Jose was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and faithful follower of Christ. He was known for his kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering love for his family, friends, and church community.
Jose dedicated his life to caring for those he loved, serving his church, and working diligently as a valued employee of HP Communications for more than 20 years. Through his compassion, wisdom, and willingness to help others, he touched countless lives. His presence brought comfort, encouragement, and joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Morena Mendez; his sons, Josue, Moises, and Saul; and his cherished grandsons, Adrian and Damian. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Albina Mendez and Leonidas Mulato.
Jose will be remembered for his steadfast faith, warm sense of humor, strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A memorial service celebrating Jose’s life will be held on June 20, 2026, at 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, California 94611. Following the services in California, Jose will be laid to rest in his beloved homeland of El Salvador.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the cherished memories we shared and in the promise of eternal life through faith in Christ. His love, guidance, and example will remain with us always.
