Jeffrey Arthur DiGregorio's Obituary
Jeffrey Arthur DiGregorio
12/12/60 1/23/26
Born in Detroit, Michigan to Kathryn & the late Richard DiGregorio, Jeffrey left us peacefully, yet unexpectedly in his sleep.
He is survived by his mother, Kathryn DiGregorio, his brother Adamo & younger sister Kimberly DiGregorio, his nieces, Mia-Coco and Isabella DiGregorio-Lippert, and his partner of 25 years, Rachel Royer.
Jeffrey spent his youth in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, where he attended grade school and graduated from bicycles to mini-bikes. He moved with his family to an eastside suburb of Detroit, where he completed high school in 1978.
In 1984, Jeffrey attended the Culinary Institute of San Francisco, where he explored the complexity and complications of cooking,
In San Francisco, Jeffrey also found his tribe. His extended family. Himself.
Jeffrey never left San Fransisco except to discover rarely visited places in the world, spending time in Mexico, South America, Europe and India. Though he excelled at a 25-year career in Information Technology at the Golden Gate Bridge, Jeffrey's spirit and passions were always artistic and he unapologetically pursued what he loved: Italian cuisine, techno and trance music and the annual creative rites of Burning Man. In the mid-1990s, he became part of the international Goa trance music scene and the U.S. distributor for the English clothing label Space Tribe. He was photographed in his fluorescent colored loft for People magazine, who dubbed him an “artist-traveler.”
Jeffrey’s family, friends and loved ones take comfort knowing that he lived a full and colorful life. Jeffrey’s wisdom and kindness was a gift to all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to may make a memorial donation to the Milo Foundation in memory of Jeffrey DiGregorio.
