This photo was never taken. But it's what it looked like during any given day in the winter in the early 1990s with Jeffery at home spot in Goa.The juggling clubs...there. The pigs, oink. Gareth drinking tea and rolling a smoke. Jefferey was like an older brother to me, being only slightly older than myself. Once or twice in your life, if you're lucky you will meet someone as kind, as funny, as adventurous as Jeffery. I have not been able to even think about this until now. It's a hard one. Love you brother.

1980: I met Jeffrey in Detroit, Michigan through a mutual friend at Wayne State University. With his support and encouragement, I began a life of loving to travel. Our 24 hour drive from Michigan to Fort Lauderdale, Florida gave me a chance to hear his stories. Thanks my new roommate, who helped me find a car I could afford: a cute Triumph Spitfire convertible which he'd borrow to made the most of Florida life. I am forever grateful for his spirit of adventure, and have this carried forward. Thank you, Jeffrey. Rest in peace. The world is dismissed by your loss. Karen, now in Oregon.

As a colleague, Jeffrey was fabulous to work with. He was always progressive, reasonable, collaborative, and no-bullshit. As a pal, I look back fondly on our sharing of fashion (shoes and glasses in particular), our Saggitarius quirks, mid-century furniture, champagne, the 90s rave scene, love of Cocteau Twins and other things 4AD, and running into each other getting our morning coffees (all of us--see photos) at D'Autremont.

I send a warm blessing of comfort to all who grieve for his departure and remain in gratitude for the great conversations, camaraderie, and support
he gave so many of us.
