Gloria Jean Richard's Obituary
Gloria Richard was born August 13, 1947 in Oakland, California to the parentage of Erwin Richard and Corine Wesley- Richard. Gloria was the second of three children. Her siblings, Erwin Richard II and Nareen Harris, preceeded her in death.
Gloria Jean Richard, who her loved ones called 'Jeanie,' was born on the Army Base in Alameda, California, in a Christian home. Gloria attended schools in Oakland including Oakland Tech where she graduated. She also attended Merritt College of Oakland, California. Gloria worked for the City of Oakland, Spectrum Community Services (PG&E) Assistance Program, Fairmont Hospital, Gladman Day Treatment Center, and did bookkeeping for Unity Preschool.
She enjoyed jazz music, and going to socializing events with her friends and retired co-workers. Gloria made friends in yoga classes that she participated in and had the kindest heart and was a person we should all want to be like. She will be missed.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory:
One Daughter, Corine Nareen Simon and Son-In-Law Charles Simon; two grandchildren, Omari Terrell Embrey and Chumiya Deseree Wiley; and a great grandson, Joshua Markees Poole, Jr.; two nephews, Vonald Harris and Devron Richard; many cousins here in California, Atlanta, Texas, and Shreveport, Louisiana; not to mention her many close friends.
