Dear Family of Gloria Richard.
My name is Laura Post and, as a psychiatrist, I worked with your beloved family member during my years at the Gladman Day Treatment Center. Ms. Richard calmly answered the phone, cheerfully greeted patients as they walked in the door, and I will never in my days on this earth, forget being huddled with many others over the tiny radio on Gloria's desk as the verdict in the O.J. Simpson Trial was delivered live. This was Oakland California so we listeners came from lots of different kind of backgrounds, with differing issues; Gloria and I met eyes when it was announced that O.J. Simpson was not guilty because, having discussed this at length, Gloria and I both believed that - although he might have committed the crimes with which he was charged, the evidence was insufficient to prove so - and that moment was a blessing and a kinship.
