Georgia Richardson's Obituary
A Celebration of the Life and Spirit of
GEORGIA W. RICHARDSON
SUNRISE: February 14, 1951~ SUNSET: August 10, 2022
Georgia W. Richardson was born on Valentine’s Day 1951 to Cornelius and Ada Busbee in Newnan, Georgia. Georgia resided with her uncle John and his wife Elsie Montgomery off and on since birth, but at age 5 remained with and was raised as their daughter and only child in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated from Nette Lee Roth High School in 1969.
During Georgia’s senior year of high school she reunited with and began dating her elementary school friend, Frederick J. Richardson, Jr. Their relationship blossomed and they were wed on March 8, 1969. On March 21, 2004 after celebrating 35 years of marriage, Georgia became a widow with Fred’s untimely death. Unto this union were born two daughters Rhyon, Rachel, and a son, Regan. Recently, after 18 years of widowhood, Georgia opened her heart to Mr. Larry Sneed, and with exceeding joy announced their engagement to the world.
Georgia dedicated her life to Jesus Christ and endeavored to share the love of Christ with everyone she encountered. Georgia was a member of Berith Christian Fellowship for over 20 yrs. She was a generous soul, giving of her time, sharing valuable advice and/or meaningful gifts at every turn. Georgia enjoyed spending time with family and friends; but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She was truly blessed to be a blessing.
An elite professional, Georgia excelled as a Real Estate Broker and as the CEO of Broadline, Inc. for a number of years, a role she stepped into after the passing of her late husband. She returned to real estate in 2017 with a renewed purpose of promoting generational wealth through property ownership. She served on various local and state committees including Associated Real Property Brokers, East Bay Housing Authority, as the President of the Oakland Board of Realtors, a government liaison for California Association of Realtors, and was a founding member of Oakland BNI, just to name a few. As a public servant, Georgia served on the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority, as a board member of non-profit foundations, and as a member of the Rotary Club. Georgia’s impact and presence will be dearly missed but we will continue to celebrate her life and spirit.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her children Rhyon (Richard Sr.) Sherer, Rachel Estell, Regan (Claudia) Richardson; 4 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, 5 half sisters, 2 half brothers and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Georgia W. Richardson was laid to rest August 19, 2022 at Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland. We encourage all that love her to pay respects by visiting her crypt on the 3rd Floor of the main building.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that you consider making a donation in Georgia’s name to OWIN (Orphans and Widows In Need) a program of The Asomugha Foundation, Inc. of which she served on the board and/or the Frederick J.
