Elvin C. Woodward's Obituary
Elvin “Woody” Woodward, 89, of Alameda, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. He was born on July 6, 1924 in Howard Lake, Minnesota.
Woody is survived by his daughters, Gail Moore and Mary, beloved father-in-law to Ben Carrasco and Dennis Cocherell; grandchildren, Michele, Michael, Nicole, Robert, Dennis (Sarah); great-grandchildren Josh, Chris, Jeff, Danyel, John, Dawn, Lilly and Travis. He is also survived by the LaHue Family. He is preceded in death by his wife Dawn and daughter Peggy.
Woody served his country in WWll, and was awarded a Purple Heart, 12 campaign ribbons, and 14 battle stars. He was a member of the DAV Chapter 8 and a Life Member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
His passions were fishing, reading and his WWII internet chat room.
