Eleanor Ruth Kirby's Obituary
Eleanor Ruth Kirby, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born and raised in Oakland, California, on April 5, 1941, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Henry Edgerly Brand and Ruth Sharpe Brand. She lived a life defined by her devotion to her family and the genuine joy she brought into every room. She was best known for her wonderful sense of humor and her infectious laugh; Eleanor could often be found laughing until she was breathless at the very silliest of things. Her lighthearted spirit was a constant source of warmth for those around her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Kirby; her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jason Lloyd; and her three cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Emma, and Matthew Lloyd, who will always remember the sound of her laughter. She also leaves behind her dear brother, Bill Brand.
Eleanor's family will remember her as the heart of their home—a woman whose grace, kindness, and laughter guided them through every season of life. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
