Eddie Leon Cooper's Obituary
Remembering Eddie Leon Cooper
Eddie Leon Cooper was born May 13, 1926 in Ruston, La. He was the 5th of 6 children born to Maggie Smith Cooper and Lucius Cooper. He attended Grambling College until being inducted into the US Navy, where he served for 3 years. He met and married Maple L Wilson. Through this union one daughter was born. In 1951 he met and married Verla M Benjamin. Together they raised 3 daughters.
He worked for the Naval Shipyard for many years, but gave it up when he learned about Jehovah, a God of peace and not war. His studying of the Bible lead to his dedication and he was baptized on July 5, 1968. He loved people, so engaging in conversation and informal witnessing about Jehovah came natural.

He leaves to cherish precious memories to his older sister Willean Woodard, 4 daughters, Dorothy Cooper Walker, (husband Eugene), Verla J Cooper Walker, (husband Roy), Carla Cooper- Karanikola, (husband Nicholas) Tanya Cooper and a very special and devoted friend, Christine Nez.
