Cindy was a kind soul. I was a poor performing undergrad who wanted a chance to be a great clinician who cared. She gave me an opportunity to come from Penn State to the west coast and become who I was meant to be. She believed in me when I wasn’t sure of myself. I would like to think she made a good decision having me join the class if 1997. More importantly, I hope my patients would agree with her wisdom. I know she is in the Lord’s hands now. So sad to read of Cindy's passing in The Mount St. Mary's Magazine. Cindy was my mentor and the type of Physical Therapist I aspired to be. I was so excited to learn she would be one of my professors, having watched her work with paients at the Rehab Institute at GAMC. She defined the word compassion and poured herself into everyone that she touched. I have thought about her through the years, sorry now that I didn't keep in touch. I think of Cindy often naoand as I always have. Iread what others have written and realize that I am am just one more person whose life both she and Terry have touched. I am lucky. She will be in my life for the rest of mine and thinking of her brings a smile and lovely memorie.
I will never forget the beauty of Cindy. Cindy and I helped each other through a very tough time in our lives, and we held each other up with our hearts. I will miss Cindy and the opportunity to get to know Terry.Love to all Maedine

Terry – I was sorry to hear fo Cindy's passing. What I alsways remember is her smile and how it lit up any room she was in. The first time I met Cindy she made me feel like I had known her for years – her way was so welcoming. You are certainly in my thoguths and prayers.Scott Ward
Cindy was always one of the best dinner partners. She and Terry were a great couple, much fun to dine and chat with….fun, insightful discussions. She will be missed.
I first met Cindy at St Mary's in the early '90s at the start of what became a decade-long process leading to the profession's shift from masters to doctoral level professional education. At that early stage, not many educators supported the change, but Cindy stands out among a very small group of PT professional education program directors who possessed a very obvious passion for her chosen profession, the ability to envision an even higher level of preparation for physical therapists, and the courage to persist in achieving that vision often times against significant resistance. Her enthusiasm, commitment, and support were deeply appreciated by me and my APTA colleagues…and could not have come at a more critical time. While, understandably, her passing is so very sad, I prefer to focus on and celebrate the many truly wonderful moments when she made a real difference in our lives, our work, and our shared life journeys.
What I always remember about Cindy was her smile, compassion, genuine warmth, and kindness of spirit. She was involved in several initiatives at APTA in the early 1990's and always was grounded with a clear sense of purpose and direction that was conveyed through her passion for education and the profession. I also remember when Cindy found her soul mate, Terry, and how amazingly happy and enriched both of their lives had become in finding each other! Cindy's strength, courage, and indomitable spirit is a testament to who she was throughout her life in finding joy in living every moment to its fullest! She will be sorely missed within the physical therapy community, however the light and passion that she brought to this profession will always burn brightly in the hearts of many whose lives she touched along the way.
i was very saddened to hear of Cindi's passing. She was central in welcoming me in both Mt. St. Mary's and Samuel Merritt College. She is a great example of professional dedication, love for life, and shining personal example of courage and strength.
