Crispin R. Huergas' Obituary
Crispin “Cris” Huergas Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 62 on January 6, 2020 in Alameda surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Renee, their three children: Jessica, Vincent and Justin, and his grandson: Santino. Cris was born in the Philippines, to Crispin Huergas Sr. and Zenaida del Rosario as one of eight children. He moved to the US as a teenager and has lived throughout the East Bay for most of his life. Cris graduated from Alameda High School, and he and Renee later raised their kids and lived most of their lives together in Alameda. Cris took a well liking to cars at an early age and eventually his interest grew into a passion. Cris’ obsession for Porsche automobiles began in his 20’s after purchasing his first 914. He later went on to own 4 different Porsche cars throughout his lifetime, but later helped spark a Porsche hot-rodding car culture after co-founding a car club known as the R Gruppe. The club has been going strong since being founded just over 20 years ago and its membership now spans far and wide. Cris found purpose in life through his relationship with the club and its members. He cultivated the club’s deep roots by helping foster many friendships built over a common interest and an appreciation for good people. So many of the club’s members, and the memories they made together, were invaluable to the life Cris lived. Along with being a proud father and grandfather, Cris found fulfillment through his many close friendships and his relationships with his family.
