I am vey saddened to learn of the Gruppemeister's passing. I met Cris at the crossroads of Hwy 35 and Hwy 84 in 2001 when we pulled into the 4 Corners area after giving our Porsches some exercise. He told me about R Gruppe and invited me to come to a gathering at EASY. I made it and went through the usually informal getting to know the prospective new guy process. Cris had a way of making you feel like you mattered and his joy in seeing his friends gathered was obvious. Sadly, after being offered a coveted spot in R Gruppe, my health went downhill and I wasn't able to hold up my end of attendance and participation. Cris called me and asked why I wasn't showing up. He understood but let me know that my spot had to go to someone who could be active. He was genuinely concerned with my situation. Now nearly two decades later, I am bringing my Porsche back to life, better than ever. It won't have an R Gruppe badge but I plan to honor Cris in some way. His vision, passion and kindness will stay with me forever.
