Lit a candle in memory of Carl Booker
Thoughts and prayers go out to all whose lives Carl touched. Ed Conn
I to met Carl at Herbert Hoover Jr High school in SF. I remember him as a big teddy bear with a great smile. I haven't seen him since we were kids but looking at this picture I see that warm smile and those gentle eyes. I'm sad to hear of his passing at such a young age. My condolences to his family❤️
I am glad to chime in on the heels of Linda's thoughtful memories of Carl. I met him at Hoover as well. Over my birthday weekend, I read of of his death on Facebook which caused me to sharply catch my breath and then gave me a long pause for thought. It was good to read of what he had done as an adult in this life and had enjoyed. Being that I could only see on my phone at that time, I waited to get on my larger laptop so that I could properly view the boy again who had become a man. ?? I am so very sorry to hear of his passing. He was always the friendly teaser, taking delight in the reaction. I was a bit intimidated by him at first until I became aware of his fun-loving, non-threatening and protective ways.Sincerely, Jill Capelle (McLain)
I first met Carl at Hoover Jr High. He was a big guy, always teasing me and then laughing. I was a bit afraid of him at first. Eventually I realized he was a big friendly teddy bear who watched out for me. He offered support and encouragement whenever he sensed that I was struggling in classes.By the time we got to McAteer we were friends. We had an algebra class together that first year. The teacher would write a problem on the board, tell us to solve it and then leave the room till class was over…and we had really long classes. Everyone in the class failed, except for Carl and I…we each passed with a D! I have missed Carl over the years and will continue to. It was with real sadness that I read his obituary, but great joy to see his photo and smiling face. Linda Wallace Humphries
