In Loving Memory of Cage Leroy Weary “Mr. St. Patrick’s” October 5th, 1948 – August 1st, 2025 Cage Leroy Weary, affectionately known as “Leroy,” “Leaky,” “Roy,” and “Papa,” was born on October 5, 1948, in Columbia, Mississippi, Read Obituary
Leroy always welcomed our family in church. I loved his deep baritone and bass vocals filling the sanctuary with strength and love. His smile made
my heart sing. He was a faithful friend to my husband when he returned to
Church and found his spiritual home in Oakland.
From day one of meeting Leroy he treated my mom Ester Adams like a sister. Affectionally calling her the PO-PO because she was in charge of the churches finances. During the priest transitions I called him Rev Leroy and that stuck with me to the end. The church family will miss him dearly and his heart of gold for helping the church and its members.
God has another Angel that will be missed on this earth.
Jenn & Ester Adams
Leroy was one of the kindest parishioners who welcomed me to
St Patrick church family with open arms. He was an asset to the St Parish church family. I had the opportunity to taste his pound cake & was fortunate to have one sent to me in LA. Leroy is truly a blessing to all who had the opportunity to meet him & I thank God for that blessing. Now that he is with his heavenly father; may his soul rest in peace. AMEN

I will miss Leroy so much. He welcomed us to St Patricks and made it our home. Every Sunday we looked forward to seeing his face and hearing his voice. He lives in all of us as we try to live better lives, following his example. I can't imagine St Patrick's without him but know he is there still helping us continue.
Great memories of Cage playing with us at our Grandparents Mama Sarah and Daddy Tom's house when he could visit. As he called it, down in the country. We got into our share of mischief and fun. RIP dear cousin..Much love. Cousin Classie
I recall meeting Leroy about 100 years ago. He was a Black Exec at Xerox. He was highly respected and reverred by his coworkers and his Peers. Leroy showed me how to make the best fluffiest tastiest biscuits from scratch. I was amazed. Better than store bought by a mile.
Leroy used to tell me that it ain't about the Education,it's about the person. It's about how intelligent you are at applying yourself. And to that end,he was a Super Rock star in everything he did. Through the years,it became apparent to all of us that Leroy and my big Brother Robert were more than just Friends. They were kindred spirits. To the end,Leroy was committed to taking care of Robert. Making sure that he took his meds and got his rest. The face that Leroy passed before Robert, is a true mystery. As I always say, there are no accidents in God's universe. So God was ready for Leroy and had other plans for him to come on home. To my biscuit making Brother and Friend, may.God Bless you where your Spirit has taken you.
All love,
Walter "Leonard" Wilson
