Zhen Duo Zhang's Obituary
Rev. Zhen Duo was born on February 21, 1929 in Mui County. His father was a physician. Both of his parents were dedicated Christians. Zhen Duo is the third child of seven. He loved soccer and was an outstanding player in the county soccer team. Zhen Duo earned a college degrees in technology and Chinese medicine. He worked as a photographer in an educational equipment company in Guangzhou. He received Christ when he was in his youth. While as a young man, he heard God’s calling and answered the call by dedicating his life to serve God. To prepare for the service, Zhen Duo enrolled in Chong Qing Seminary and Beijing Seminary. While in school, he was sent out to share the Gospel. Someone platted him and put in him in prison with false accusations. Two years later he was vindicated and released. The school complimented him for what he went through. After graduating, he became a pastor in two churches.
In May of 1959, Zhen Duo married Dao Zhen Mo. In 1984, Dao Zhen’s sister applied the family to immigrate to the U.S. In 1988, Zhen Duo started shepherding Truth Gospel Church in Oakland. He lead the church through ups and downs, and stayed with the church faithfully. He was always eager to share the gospel. He and his wife were invited to hold a large evangelical service on the east coast. His daughters got married and their families also serve the Lord. In 2003, Zhen Duo had a bleeding benign tumor. He fell into coma. The doctor advised the family to prepare for the worse. The family and the church members prayed sincerely in one accord. Two weeks later, he came out of the coma. Zhen Duo continued his service to God. In 2010, he fainted many times, resulting from clogged blood arteries and strokes. Since then, his health started to decline. In April of 2011, he moved to a skilled nursing home. On January 25, 2014 at 9:40 p.m. Zhen Duo suffered from shortage of breath and returned home to the Lord. If we receive Jesus as our savior, then we will reunite with each other in heaven.
