Yuri Uchida's Obituary
Yuri Uchida, 98, of Berkeley, passed peacefully on December 30, 2018. He was born in Oakland, CA and raised in Los Angeles, CA, she settled in Berkeley after marriage to Frank Uchida. Her husband Frank and son Brian preceded her in death. Yuri’s daughters, Karen Yamamoto ( Stan) and Sharon Gallagher (Jim) survive her along with grandchildren Mika Hocking (Ian) and Daryl Yamamoto (Gail), and great grandson, Landon Hocking. An excellent cook and baker extraordinaire, Yuri made her kitchen the center of family life and a place of hospitality for extended family and countless friends.
Arrangements for a private celebration of her life are pending. Yuri’s family is grateful for her loving companion, Hiro Akagi, and the caring staff at Moraga Royale and Sunset Hospice.
