Yolanda Mercer's Obituary
Yolanda Mercer, age 85 passed away peacefully in Oakland on July 8, 2020.
She was born in San Salvador, El Salvador in 1935 and lived many years and raised a family in San Francisco before moving to Oakland in the 1980’s.
She lived life to the fullest and was a devout Catholic who loved reading her Bible and praying her rosary daily.
She enjoyed many hobbies including arts and crafts, reading, gardening, cooking and walking through the beautiful neighborhoods surrounding her home.
She had a deep love of family and loved all animals especially birds.
She was preceded in death by her parents Serapio and DelFina Recinos, her daughter Liza Georgette Mercer and her siblings Martha, Olympia, Sara, Lillian, Amina, Mario and Adan.
She is survived by her children Leonora Lee Mercer and Scott Mercer(Andrea). Also, her granddaughter, Melissa Torres(Larry) and 5 great grandchildren, Destinee, Cris, Jaison, Paris and London.
She was cherished by nieces, nephews as well as beloved friends.
