Wing To Quan's Obituary
WING TO QUAN, age 92 was born on January 31, 1924 in Hoi Ping, Guangdong, China and passed away peacefully on January 6, 2017 in Oakland, California. Born to Hon Chung Yee and King Shin Chang. Widow of Fong Quan; Children, Stanley Quan (Carol), Susan Lee (Tom), and Selwyn Quan (Anita); Grandchildren, Justin Loyola (Danielle), Shayna Gonzales (Bryan), Jennifer Lee and Stacey Gaoiran (Norly); 4 Great grandchildren; And numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews.
Wing married her husband Fong Quan in 1947 in China. She gave birth to her first son Stanley in 1948. Her husband returned to the United States in 1949, but she and her son stayed in China until 1952 when they moved to Hong Kong before immigrating to the United States in 1954 to be reunited with her husband. They lived in Oakland, CA. In 1955, she gave birth to a daughter, Susan, and to another son named Selwyn in 1956. Wing worked for many years as a seamstress in a sewing factory as well as in various other jobs until she retired in 1979. She was a member of the Loong Kong Tien Yee Association and attended the Bay Area Chinese Bible Church for many years. She was married for 60 years.
She was very generous and will be remembered for her kindness and devotion to her family.
Family will receive family and friends for a Visitation from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA 94611. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Chapel of the Chimes – Chimes Chapel.
