My heart is deeply saddened by the news of "Auntie" Willie's passing. She made such a huge impact in the life of my mom (Patricia C. Cole) as her recovery sponsor. She challenged my mom to be a better version of herself and held her hand down the very tough path of recovery. My brother's and I had our mom delivered back to us as a result of Auntie's tough love. She was by my side to love and support me when my mom passed in 2023. She will be deeply missed and forever appreciated. She was a very special lady. Now she and my mom can live together in eternity!

We grew up in West Oakland. We were so close that we (my sister and I) considered ourselves as "Cousins". I went away to the Air Force, and every time that I came home, she wanted to throw a party for me. At one point, as children, we thought we would get married, but God saw different. I've always loved her, and was so elated to see her. She sang in the choir at my father's church. Our families were always close. I will miss her smile and laughter. I thank God for allowing her to be a part of my life.
