William Benjamin Webb's Obituary
William “Bill” Webb, 83, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 9, 1942, at the Mare Island Naval Hospital in Vallejo, California, Bill was the son of Willie Webb, a proud member of the U.S. Navy, and Katherine Webb, a devoted homemaker.
Bill graduated from Castlemont High School in 1960, where he was a standout track and field athlete, receiving a full ride scholarship to Oregon State, but choose to attend and graduate from Merritt College in Oakland.
On January 10, 1981, Bill married Denise Webb, his second wife, after the two met at one of the lively and memorable parties he hosted at his home in Hayward. Their partnership was filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures.
Bill was a devoted father to his Kevin from his first marriage, Rian, Summer, and step-son Reggie. His greatest joy came from being “Papa” to his grandchildren: Israel (10), Kaia (8), and twins Reggie & Aila (4).
Bill was a Hayward police officer prior to spending the majority of his professional life as a Sales Manager for Southern Wines & Spirits, where he built lasting relationships and earned the respect of colleagues across the industry. His charisma, work ethic, and leadership left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with.
Bill lived life fully and joyfully. He was an avid fisherman, always ready to cast a line for anything willing to take his bait. He loved boating, RV camping trips, waterskiing, traveling, and enjoying a good western movie. And a fine glass of wine and the simple pleasure of time spent with family and friends. Above all, Bill treasured the moments shared with those he loved most. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he embraced every opportunity to create memories with them.
Bill Webb will be remembered for his warmth, humor, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in his children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He is survived by Rian, Summer, his grandchildren, and his sister, Marilyn Hawkins of Brea, California.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
