M. Crystal
Bill Read was my Grandfather Crystalâ??s first cousin. I did not really get to know Bill (and Claudine) until both of my Crystal grandparents had passed away. Later, when both of my parents were gone, and probably unbeknownst to him, I kind of adopted Bill as my â??Elderâ?.During the times I was able to visit with him over the years he impressed me with his interest and curiosity about life, with his optimism and good cheer – even while he was learning to live without Claudine – performing the everyday tasks of taking care of himself, including trying new things, like preparing and cooking baby bok choy!Iâ??m sure Bill had his sad times and his mad times, but even in the last years, he always inspired me with his laughter, his enjoyment of the moment and his charity toward others and, of course, our mutual appreciation for ice cream! I am so grateful to have known him and to share a family connection, even if itâ??s only as a first cousin, twice removed! I will always cherish him in my heart and memory. With Love & Fond Memories,Marisue Crystal
