William Henry Broyles, Jr.'s Obituary
William (Bill) Broyles, Jr. was born in Oakland, CA on December 21, 1929 to William H. and Alberta B. Broyles. He started school at Garfield Elementary, went to Prescott Jr. High and graduated from Oakland Technical High School in 1948.Bill met and married his high school sweetheart, Eleanor Exum. They had three daughters, Gwendolyn, Anita and Zina.He lived in the Bay Area all his life and worked for the Oakland Unified District from 1958 until his retirement in 1991 as a truck driver.He bowled in several leagues and loved the sport. He liked watching football, boxing and baseball. He also loved singing and music.Bill was preceded in death by his mother, father, daughter Anita, sisters Millie Stallings, Dorothy Page and Rowena Cunningham.Left to mourn are his daughters Gwen Black and Zina Taylor; grandchildren, Lisa Black, Eric Vaughns, Keisha Vaughns, Andre Taylor and Jamel Taylor, 9 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and lots of friends.Friends are invited attend a Visitation on Monday, January 8th from 5-8pm and to Funeral Services on Tuesday, Jan. 9th at 11:00am. Both services will held at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland.
