Some of my fondest memories include our summertime trips to Alameda to be with the Koike and Nakamoto families. The Wayne I remember was always quiet and cordial. The last time I had a chance to visit with him was during their family visit to South Louisiana in 2009. We had such a great time. Wayne will be sadly missed! Sincere and heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to the entire family!
had many of the same classes and teachers, high school schedules meant we usually had different classes, different teachers, and different periods.
After high school Wayne went away to college at Chico, I stayed home and went to SF State. Wayne went to Japan, I got married for the first time.
After he returned home to Alameda as adults, we did play slow pitch softball together for many summers, but our paths were no longer as close as they once were when we were young.
On occasion, throughout our adult years, our lives crossed paths for this or that event. Although no longer as close as we once were, I will always considered Wayne one of my cherished lifelong friends.
