Wanda Sampson's Obituary
Wanda Sampson, of Vallejo California, passed away on Thursday December 15, 2022. She was 75 years old, born in Los Angeles, California on September 3, 1947. The first born of nine (9) children, six boys and three girls, to Naomi and Albert Sampson Jr. Raised in Northern California, namely Alameda, then San Francisco, Wanda continued to live in the greater Bay Area from Oakland, to Walnut Creek, Richmond, Fairfield and finally settling in Vallejo, CA.
Wanda worked for the government at the Social Security Administration in Richmond, CA, where she retired after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Glen Cove Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Vallejo, CA. Wanda had a passion for Black American and African themed art, sculptures, and figurines, she loved sports…and was a big Golden State Warriors fan.
Wanda is survived by her son, Billy DeAndre Hill, her brothers Tommy, Vernon, Anthony, Antjuan, and Michael Sampson, and her sisters, Brenda and Deborah Sampson. Also by Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins as well as her spiritual brothers and sisters. Wanda was preceded in death by her daughter Tanya J. Hill, her brother Ralph Sampson and both of our parents, Albert Sampson Jr. and Naomi Sampson.
