Wai Hing Lam's Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wai Hing Lam at Highland Hospital in Oakland on Sunday, March 3, 2024. She was 94 years old.
Wai Hing was born in China, province of Guangdong, on October 17, 1929. Her maiden name was Shiu Wai Hing, one of 16 children in the family, birth order number 14.
She was the beloved wife of Fook Wing Lam (preceded in death) for 62 years, Mother of 5 children, Thomas, Richard, Paul, Samuel, and Lisa, Grandmother of 8 and Great-grandmother of 5.
The family immigrated from Hong Kong to Oakland in 1967.
She enjoyed spending time with the family and travels with her husband to China. Her hobby was listening to and singing Chinese operas with a live traditional Chinese musical ensemble.
She had a long and fruitful life, blessed by the grace of God.
Her funeral service is at Chapel of the Chimes Oakland, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA on Wednesday March 13, 2024 at 10:30 am. and Burial at Mountain View Cemetery, 5000 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA.
