Virginia F. Wong's Obituary
Virginia Florence Wong was born September 15, 1934 to Florence Chan (Chan Laung Fong) and Jack Wong (Chun Ping Wong) and died March 6, 2023.
Virginia was born in Oakland, California and went to Lincoln Elementary School, Westlake Junior High, and graduated from Oakland High School.
When Virginia was in ninth grade she worked for Mrs. Woods in Piedmont as a school girl cooking and cleaning. She did this from the age of 13 to 20 years old.
She lived with her grandmother from the age of 20 until she married Jack Wong in April 1957 at the age of 23. Jack's friend, Robert Yuen, set them up on a blind date and they double-dated. Jack and Virginia celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary in April 2022.
She worked for Pacific Bell as a Teletype; Tennyson Elementary as a yard duty teacher, and volunteered at St. Clements Catholic School. Her primary career was a housewife and mother.
Virginia was predeceased by her mother, father, older brother Albert and younger brothers Bruce and Stanley. She is survived by her husband Jack; children, Cathy, Kim, Phil (son-in-law), Todd, and Audrey (daughter-in-law); grandchildren Kaylee and Jackson; her brothers Phil and Michael; sister-in-law Lisa; nieces and nephews Blake and his wife Tracy, Taylor, Karna and her husband Maximiliano, and Ryan; and great niece and nephew Alyssa and Brent.
