Virgilio Adriano Pineda Jr.'s Obituary
Virgilio Vovot Pineda Jr. was born on June 12, 1972, a holiday in the Philippines, our Independence Day. He was definitely a huge event in our family. The first-born son to Virgilio Sr and Cynthia Alvarez and the first and only baby in a long while on Kasaganaan (our hometown street). He grew up with much love from the Pinedas, Alvarez, Cruz, Gatdula, Advincula and Salonga families. Vovot had a very loving relationship with his Godparents whom he respected and cherished. At 16 years old, he was adopted by his grandparents the late Teodorico and Virginia Pineda and migrated to America. Leaving behind his close-knit family including his brothers Vincent and Vernie Jay “VJ”. America unlocked new opportunities for him. His hard work allowed him to Intern and then work at NASA. His first job brought him so much joy and pride because he was able to make good money to send home to the Philippines to his mom. Later in life, he married Iluminada “Lumen” Lim and they had an unborn child named Veec. They enjoyed a wonderful life going to different places by touring and cruising. He loved children and it was evident by his godchildren both in the Philippines and all over the world. One is Vella whom he wanted to adopt. He loved his cousins very much on the Pineda and Alvarez side and continued to reach out to the 2nd and 3rd degree. He was a very generous person. He gave help when needed and even made financial donations or sent school supplies to some schools in the Philippines. He was kind and funny which is why he had so many friends young and old. He is survived by his mother, Cynthia, his wife Lumen, his brothers Vincent (m. Mylene) and Vernie Jay (VJ) nieces Via, Vianca, Vimby, nephews Vhalin and Joshua, his cousins both Alvarez and Pineda and his numerous godchildren that he loved like his own. He will always be remembered.
