Viola Alexander's Obituary
Viola Antonia Thompson Alexander
Viola Thompson Alexander, affectionately known as Vi, was born in Oakland, California to Ann and Clarence Thompson (both deceased). Through this union, two children were born, Clarence (Tooti) her brother, who preceded Viola in death.
Viola accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. Her family joined Sacred Heart Church in Oakland where she attended elementary school. At the age of twelve she transferred to Emery High School.
Viola started working at the age of sixteen at the Naval Air Station on Treasure Island. After graduating from high school, she worked at the Post Office in Oakland. She later got her Dental Assistant Certificate from Laney College.
Viola met Gregory Alexander in 1976, and they married in 1979. From this union they were blessed with a baby boy, Gregory Stephen Alexander.
Viola was a truly kind and generous person. She donated to various charities and organizations to help the less fortunate. She annually donated back to school supplies, backpacks, Christmas gifts and Easter baskets to needy families. Viola also donated to the homeless, giving them socks and coats and other items.
Viola leaves to cherish her precious memory, the love of her life, her husband, Gregory K. Alexander, her only beloved son, Gregory Stephen Alexander, daughter in-law, Amanda; her four grandchildren Kassius, Deneko, Javeah, and Lennox Alexander, her God-daughter Tanzania Muhammad, brother-in-law Prentice Alexander, sister-in-law Renee Alexander, her niece, Kelia Human and many cousins and friends. Viola will be deeply missed.
