Vincent E Brown Jr.
June 21, 1925 – August 22, 2013
Vincent was born and raised in Oakland, CA, graduating from Fremont High School He joined the US Navy shortly thereafter and served with distinction in Asia Pacific through World War II. Vince worked as a retail clerk for nearly 50 years, the last 36 with Safeway. He lived in San Leandro for 56 years before moving to Concord four years ago.
Vince is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Martha Jane, and daughters Barbara Moser (Concord) and Nancy Kurtz (Brentwood), along with five grandchildren and five great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard.
Vince was the epitome of selflessness – he would do anything for anyone and always put the needs of others before his own. A devoted, loving and proud family man, Vince was adored by family and friends, whom will miss him dearly. Vince will be interned at Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland. At his request there will be no funeral services, however there will be a Celebration of Life in the near future.
