Verla M. Cooper died in Oakland on June 21, 2003. Beloved wife of Eddie L. Cooper of Oakland, CA. Loving mother of Verla Walker of Antioch, CA; Dorothy Walker of Oakland, CA; Carla Cooper-Karanikola of Antioch, CA and Tanya Cooper of Richmond, CA. Dear sister of Mary Williams of Richmond, CA; Douglas Benjamin of Richmond and Aline Thomas of Oakland, CA. Also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. A Native of Dallas, Texas, aged 78 years. One of Jehovah Witnesses and a longtime volunteer in the Oakland Public School System. Verla Cooper was an active supporter of Childrenâs Fairyland Events where her grandsons Nicholas and Justin Karanikolas performed. Friends are invited to attend visitation at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland on Monday June 30, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and attend funeral services at Chapel of the Chimes on July 1, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Rollinghills Cemetery.
