Velma Jean Jenkins' Obituary
Velma Jean Jenkins, 65, of Oakland, California, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2018. She was born in Orange, Texas on May 27, 1952. Velma Jenkins graduated from Castlemont High School in Oakland, California and received her Associate’s Degree in Child Care from Laney College.
Velma was married to Adolph L. Keyes, Sr. in October in 1975. Velma had a career in child care “Velma’s Daycare Center.” She was a member of 4c’s and Child Care Links and had a passion for her children, grandchildren, traveling & watching Cowboy Films.
She is preceded in death by her father; Burdest Lenton Jenkins, mother; Billie Frank Rathers Jenkins and sister; Sandra Kay Jenkins Williams. Survivors left to cherish her precious memories are her children: Angelique Keyes of Oakland, California, Stacy Jenkins of Washington, Tracy Jenkins of Oakland, California. Grandchildren; Jarmaine & Jayden Mitchell, Ashley & Asha Jenkins-Travis, Alejandro & Anastacia Ramos, Jeremy Diaz. Brothers; Lenton (Olivia), Earvin (Lynn), James (Candy) and Burdest (Delia) all of Beaumont, Texas. Sisters; Gloria of Beaumont, Texas, Shirley (James) of Fort Worth, Texas and Bobbie (Dwight) of Oklahoma and Stepmother; Emily Jean Mitchell of Beaumont, Texas. Special son Solomon Williams of San Leandro, California.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, April 21st at Calvary Mortuary, Beaumont, Texas.
