Valerie Lane's Obituary
Valerie Lane, a 60-year resident of Oakland, California, passed away in her home on October 13, 2004. She is the beloved wife of the late Oliver C. Lane and loving mother of sons: the late blues guitarist, Willie (Sonny) Lane and Oakland's MSC port engineer, James O. Lane. Valerie is survived by her daughters: Barbara Lane-Maniche of Oakland and Joyce A. Jessie of Sacramento; three grandchildren; Gary Romel, Stephanie Alise and Valerie Nicole; four great-grand children: Ashley, Jordan, Taylor and Malia; two god-children: Valerie (Walker) Wilson and Clarence Davis, Jr.Friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Sunday, October 24 at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
