I haven't seen Uthara since 1991 when we graduated from HF, but her humble demeanor and HUGE smarts made an impression on me that will last forever. I remember in grade school that she tried to explain to us how her dad's first name was pronounced, and then she shrugged and said, "His friends just call him Srini."
I remember driving by the gorgeous 2-story colonial that the family owned on Hillview with the black eagle over the front door. I remember a girls' sleepover there where we all got in trouble for TP'ing Troy Turek's house (sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Srinivasan!). I remember Mrs. Srinivasan on her fitness walks through the neighborhood (pretty much every day). I remember the sweetness of Pritha. Though we didn't travel in the same circles once we reached high school, everyone knew Uthara was simply a force. I'm not surprised to hear that she went on to great things, and that she probably shrugged when asked about them.
I hope these memories are comforting- Uthara was an amazing human being, even back then, and I'll always remember her with admiration and love. Many hugs from Colorado- Cara (Dutko) Scott
