Monday, Sept 14, 2015 One of the Fondest memories of Trinidad was around 1973 or sowhen I took them camping in Covello, that was in themountains of Northern Ca. And the list of nefarious characterswas: my late Brother in law, Hank Espanoza and his son, Federico, and my late sister Margieâ??s son, Trinidad,my sister Nanaâ??s late son, Robert, and Iâ??m not sure on this point, but I think my late son was also with us. I donâ??t remember ifany of the girls were with us, I donâ??t think they were. Now for the funny thing that none of us has ever forgottenand we always get a lot of laughs when we talk about it.And that was, it had just turned dark when I had to go into townto pick up some supplies or something, and in my blue vanthere was two bucket seats and a metal cover, that covered themotor, and acted as a middle seat. Now, the van I had had nofront to it, it was like a bus. Trinidad was sitting in the middleFrederico and I donâ??t know who else was sitting on the passengerside, and there might have been someone in the back. Ok, hereâ??s thepunch line. While driving down the gravel, wiggly road, and theheadlights a blaze, and as I was coming around one of the â??Sâ?turns, a deer walked out in front of the van and in order not torun over the deer, I stepped on the brake really quick and let goand hit the break again and let go, and then finally came to a stopinches away from the deer. Note: As I came to a stop just inchesway from the deer, Trinidad screamed for dear life!!!Of course whenever we got together, we always got a good laughwhen we talk about that incident.
