Tracy Nishimura's Obituary
Obituary for Tracy Nishimura
It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Tracy Nishimura, who left us peacefully on August 24, 2025. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 5, 1960, Tracy lived 65 joyful years filled with love, laughter, and a deep connection to the people he cherished. His easy-going charm brought warmth and light into every life he touched. He was a devoted husband, a dedicated son, brother and uncle, a loving dog dad, and a loyal friend to many.
After graduating from the University of Hawaii, Manoa with a double major in Business Administration and Management Information Systems Tracy moved to northern California in 1985 and spent the next 33+ years working at McKesson Corporation, which included recognition in 2005 with the prestigious McKesson President’s Award. He retired in 2019, allowing time to focus on the things he loved. Tracy was an avid Oakland Athletics season ticket holder for over 20 years. He loved living in Alameda, the companionship of his dogs, relaxing sunny days on the golf course, action movies, cocktails, and time spent with family and friends. Tracy was known for his easy smile, kind heart, a cold IPA in hand and unwavering generosity. He had a way of making people feel comfortable and seen and was always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word.
Tracy is survived by his wife of 34 years, Robyn, and his faithful dog, Kea; his brothers, Lennox (Rene), and Russell; his sister, Lynette Fujimori (Neal); cherished nieces, Kristine Onaga and Chelsea Omaye-Backman (Keane) and a wide circle of extended family and devoted friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Laura, and his beloved dogs, Maile, Misha, and Hoku, who surely greeted him with wagging tails.
Tracy lived with kindness, humility, integrity, and quiet joy. Though he is deeply missed, his spirit lives on in the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the many lives he touched. Gone too soon, but never forgotten, we carry him with us by living with the same kindness, generosity, love, and spirit of Aloha he brought to our lives.
Celebrations of Life in Tracy’s honor will take place in Alameda and Honolulu where he will be laid to rest.
