My name is Mio Good. I met Tomie Cullins at hula class at Mastick Senior Center back in 2011. She was one of the senior hula students. I was told she was among the original group of students that our kumu (teacher), Alberta Keakealani Jay, started her classes with. It was such a fun group of ladies learning hula dances, teaching dances, and performing in hula shows. I was so glad I found this class. I have been a member all these years.
Tomie was such a talented person. She was a great Japanese food cook. The sewed just about all her clothes. She was a lovely hula dancer and performed for many years. And she was a generous person, sharing to a fault.
I will miss Tomie very much. And I'm sure all the numerous friends she had will miss her, too. Ray, her son, cared for Tomie and was always there for her. She was very lucky to have such a devoted son.
Rest in peace Tomie, Love always, Mio Good
